What is The Outcasts?

The Outcasts is an idea for a pirate inspired 3D platformer where you play as main characters Sparky or Dara to sail and explore the world while defeating enemies and outrunning bounty hunters.

The Outcasts Pt 1

The Outcasts Pt 1

Adoptive siblings Sparky and Dara live in the Scrapyard doing odd jobs around town when they're sent out to steal back a mystical object known as the Wayfinder from Prof. Vincent, an object that can be used to find, and access, structures called Waypoints which are some of the last working portals to the Eldritch Realm.

After realizing the mad scientist is exploiting the Waypoint's Eldritch energy for his weapons and corrupting the surrounding area, the two siblings escape the Scrapyard and join a pirate crew known as the Outcasts to put a stop to his plans... so long as they can outrun his bounty hunters.

The Outcasts Pt 2

After the events of the last game Outcast Island gets attacked by a hostile new group; Dara goes missing in the raid, leaving Sparky to search for her without the direction of his best friend/sister.

Enlisting the help of an old enemy? Ally? Sparky isn't really sure yet... they set sail across the seven seas in search of their lost friend and to defeat this new enemy... if they can get past their mysterious new enforcer first.

The Outcasts Pt 3

During a celebration thrown by the Outcasts to honor the new recruits who have finished their training and have now become official members of the crew, including one Azar "Hotshot" Pyre, as well as Maelstrom's promotion to captain, Hotshot invites his boyfriend Voxhugin to join them only to find out Vox is apparently Sparky's best friend from before his amnesia.

After hearing about Sparky's memory loss Vox becomes determined to help restore the lightning dragon's memories, much to the reluctance of Sparky who is uninterested in his old identity after finally feeling comfortable with the one he has now. Meanwhile, Vincent returns... dead set on getting revenge on The Outcasts as he teams up with a new outer worldly threat.

The Outcasts:
Destined for Death

A prequel to the Outcast trilogy, Destined for Death explores the life of David Jones and his first mate Murdock, as they sail out on The Flying Dutchman to unknown lands, coming across a hidden island in the Dead Sea and it's Eldritch inhabitants.

David in particular finds companionship (and maybe more) in the Elder Goddess of the Skies, Fulgerdea, their two groups growing closer over time and forming an alliance... but much like everything in Jones' life, there are some out in the world who do not approve.

Meet the Characters!

Sparky

Sparky

Sparky is a bat/eldritch hybrid who got amnesia after hitting his head when he was young. Dara found him in an alley and gave him the name "Sparky" because of his ability to breathe electricity.

Despite his timid demeanor, Sparky is a dedicated and loyal scout/mapmaker for The Outcasts who isn't afraid to stop hiding to protect his sister and crew.

Dara

Darlene, better known as Dara, is a mechanical prodigy who created her own prosthetic and is the go-to inventor of The Outcasts.

She's very protective of not only her brother and teammates, but also herself, and can have a hard time showing her true self which sometimes leads to her picking fights.

Hotshot

Hotshot

Bounty Hunter turned trusted ally, Azar "Hotshot" Pyre is the top mercenary in the business! He, Sparky, and Dara didn't get off to the best start considering... well, he was sent to kill them.

But after betraying Vincent and joining The Outcasts, he's proven himself to be a valuable member and marksmen... no matter how punchable his face is, according to Dara.

Vox

Fellow bounty hunter and Hotshot's boyfriend, Voxhugin, better known as "Vox", joined the mercenary guild hoping to find his lost best friend in his travels.

Unlike Hotshot who is wild and cocky, Vox is very calm and collected... though his efforts coming up futile has made him a bit more desperate and less concentrated. Luckily, Hotshot has always been there to ground him when he needs it.

Maelstrom

Maelstrom

The first mate of The Outcasts, Maelstrom Wayward. Though he means well, he can be very strict, still stuck in the belief that everything needs to be done a certain way even after his time with The Outcasts.

He claims it's for the best of the crew, but Murdock finds himself hesitant to finally retire and let Maelstrom become captain until he learns to be more understanding.

Murdock

Captain Murdock Wayward is the founder and leader of The Outcasts, creating the crew after escaping prison and seeing how intolerant the world was to people who are different. He still wears his chains as a symbol that people don't have to fit into everyone else's view.

He's easygoing but very wise and cautious, not wanting anyone to be hurt the way he was, but give them a place to be safe if they were.

Vincent

Vincent

To the public Vincent can come off as a charming and innovative scientist, but in reality he's obsessed with power and perfection, exploiting and harnessing the chaos of Waypoints and Eldritch Realm for his own nefarious purposes.

He is cold, unfeeling, and not afraid to ruin the world or send bounty hunters after kids to get his way.
